order. It may be on a piece of paper, or it may come across electronically via satellite. The information it contains, or does not contain, will without question affect the movement of the
product through the entire cycle of business until it is ultimately paid for. Edison Technologies works closely with suppliers to develop a system that manages the order from the moment it is
taken. The often neglected or forgotten items are often most important. Is it appropriate to take an order when the product is not then available nor will it be in the foreseeable future?
This happens thousands of times a day, where sales personnel obtain orders when there isn't a chance of them being delivered due to inventory outages or other supply problems. Is equipment and
resources available to deliver the product being ordered? Can the time and delivery constraints of the retailer be met? All of these questions can be answered at the time the order is being
solicited, providing a sound system is in place. We work with you to ensure that the entire stream of order processing results in a smooth flow from inception to delivery and ultimately to collection.
Order entry and subsequent processing should flow electronically, with minimal delay or intervention. Monitoring inventory, pricing, promotions, credit terms, delivery times, type of delivery
equipment required and myriad other situations make it essential that at point of entry all system are updated with accurate, timely data, ensuring that from that point forward the order flows smoothly
through the system. Properly handled those crisis moments where a warehouse supervisors realizes at three in the morning that he hasn't got product to fill the orders and load the trucks are a thing of
the past.
